Why We Skip Corn, Soy & Artificial Anything

When we started reading ingredient labels on store-bought treats, three things kept showing up: corn, soy, and a long list of ingredients we couldn't pronounce. None of it seemed necessary—so we decided to leave it all out.

Corn and soy, without the guesswork

Corn and soy are common fillers in mass-produced pet treats. They're cheap to source and easy to bake with, but they're also common sources of sensitivity for many dogs. Since we bake in small batches anyway, there was never a reason to reach for them.

What "no artificial anything" really means

No synthetic dyes. No artificial flavoring. No chemical preservatives. If a treat needs color or shelf life, we get there with real ingredients—banana for natural sweetness, oats for texture, and small batches baked often enough that long shelf life was never the goal.

So what is in our treats?

Bananas, peanut butter, oats, and a touch of egg for our Banana, Peanut Butter & Oat treats. Rolled oats, almond flour, unsweetened applesauce, local honey, a kiss of cinnamon, and our signature PupCream for the Oatmeal PupCream Pies. That's the whole list—because that's all it takes.

Curious what's baking next? Cat treats are on the way, built on the exact same promise.

Done!
